The Monegasque Tennis Federation is proud to celebrate the outstanding victory of Hugo Nys and his partner Édouard Roger-Vasselin at the ATP 500 tournament in Tokyo, held in September.

The Monegasque and the Frenchman capped off a remarkable week at the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships by claiming the doubles title, securing one of the most prestigious trophies of the ATP season in this category. Facing strong opposition in the final from Rohan Bopanna and Takeru Yuzuki, the duo demonstrated great solidity and composure to win in straight sets (7–5, 7–5).

Winning an ATP 500 tournament is a major achievement and highlights the pair’s ability to compete with the very best international teams. This title in Japan also represents an important milestone in their season, both from a sporting and symbolic perspective.

The Monegasque Tennis Federation extends its warmest congratulations to Hugo Nys, who proudly represents the colours of the Principality on the international stage, as well as to Édouard Roger-Vasselin, and wishes them every success for the remainder of their journey on the ATP Tour.
