The Monegasque Tennis Federation is proud to celebrate the exceptional achievement of Valentin Vacherot at the 2025 Rolex Shanghai Masters, where he claimed a spectacular victory to become the first Monegasque player to win an ATP singles title — and not just any title, but a Masters 1000.

Arriving in China as a qualifier and ranked 204th in the world, Vacherot delivered a truly historic performance. After coming through the qualifying rounds, he went on to produce a series of outstanding wins against top-level opponents, including several Top 20 players and even Novak Djokovic, whom he defeated in the semifinals to become the first qualifier to reach a Masters 1000 final since 2001.

In the final, Valentin overcame his cousin Arthur Rinderknech with a score of 4–6, 6–3, 6–3, providing one of the most memorable moments of the tennis season.

This success not only marks his first ATP singles title, but also the first Masters 1000 crown in history for a player representing Monaco. By lifting this trophy, Vacherot etches his name into the annals of world tennis and elevates the Principality to an entirely new level on the international stage.

The Shanghai triumph has also dramatically reshaped Valentin Vacherot’s ATP ranking. Thanks to the valuable points earned during the tournament, he made a spectacular leap up the rankings, moving to the doorstep of the Top 40 — a remarkable progression that perfectly reflects the magnitude of his achievement.

The Monegasque Tennis Federation extends its warmest congratulations to Valentin Vacherot for this incredible performance. His journey in Shanghai will go down as one of the greatest feats ever accomplished by a Monegasque player and a moment of immense pride for the entire Principality.

We wish him every success as he builds on this exceptional momentum and continues his rise on the international tennis scene.
